Kenwood TT questions

Tedrick

Infinity-phile
I've got a line on a local Kenwood KD500 with the faux-stone base, fitted with an Infinity Black Widow arm, and a new entry-level Ortofon cartridge. The 'table is in overall excellent condition, as is the dust cover, and is guaranteed to work. Asking price is $275. Is that a resonable price for this 'table? What would be a good upgrade cartridge for the arm/table combo?

Thanks!!

That's an OK price for that 'table...they go for less on that auction site usually, but the additional cost and aggravation of shipping a turntable makes your local machine a pretty good deal.

I would take a good listen to the Ortofon before changing it out, I've used an OM5E for a while and been very impressed. Otherwise, I'm not sure what kind of cart the Black Widow likes...

Does anyone know more about the Infinity Arm? I'm not sure what sort of cartridge is reccomended for use with it....

The bay shows that combo sold at 425 and the arm alone at 275. I know it is a good combo.

Go for it. The BW arm is very good with high compliance carts like the typeV Shure, AT440ML, etc. The 440ML could be the best match price-performance wise.

Thanks,
