I know...I told myself never to respond to CL ads with the "best offer".
And yet here I am again.
Some dude is selling Kenwood KD-750 DD TT without cartridge.
It looks good (judging by multiple pictures) and he said it works fine (remains to be seen and checked).
However I have no clue on what to offer :scratch2:
eBay is no help. No completed sales. There is one non-working with 29 bucks bid and 5 days to go and I have to offer something till tomorrow.
Any input?

This is a small world after all.
It turns out that I know the guy. We used to work for the same company about 10 years ago.
And the whole deal is a "package deal".
Set includes Kenwood KA-800 amp, KT-800 tuner, Yamaha NS-344 speakers and abovementioned Kenwood KD-750.
I don't really need amp and tuner (though I had KA-800 a long time ago and actually it sounded pretty good) and definitely need another pair of speakers like a hole in the head. Would it be pair number 11 or 12? But turntable is very tempting.
So the good news is that he agreed to hold the whole thing for me until I come up with an offer.
The bad news is that I would definitely have to sell amp, tuner and speakers and at present time have no idea what to offer for the package.
Besides there is a pair of Swan 6.1 speakers for sale not far from me. I want them so much!
 
Well, you'll have to figure out the least that the rest of the system can fetch on ebay (in this bad economy) and add up what you're willing to pay for the turntable.

An offer is an offer and once is made, can't be lowered but you can always increase it. Why don't you start with a low offer, say, $500 and work from there? Maybe he's in the same boat as you, not having a clue how much his gear is worth.

Hey, In a couple of hours I'll be on my way to pick up Swan Divas 6.1.
There will be a major reshuffling in the system. As much as I hate to do it my Mirage M5si will have to go (probably). they are too close to the wall to do their best and due to the room (and furniture) arrangements there is no way I can move them to the optimal position. So here come Divas.
As for Kenwood and Co (as I mentioned) I should call the guy tonight after 8 P.M. We'll see.

If you're not going for that 750, mind letting someone here have a shot? The rest of the gear isn't worth much at all (unless those yamahas are something special) but the 'table is a find.

It happens to me second time in a week! I finally got a hold on a seller yesterday and guess what? He sold all the stuff. SOB! He promised to give me a chance if he receives any offers, and yet...
Screw it! From now on I will never (and I mean it!) NEVER respond to those "best offer" ads on CL!

I am seriously pissed off right now!
