Kenwood tuner and amp

I'm new to the vintage tuner world. I've recently come across a Kenwood KA-3500 Stereo Integrated Amplifier and KT-5300 Stereo Tuner being sold together for $150. Both units look good and clean and are working. I want to get opinions on how good these units are in performance and quality. Does the price sound right for both units? Thank you.

Basically, you are paying $150 for the amp, and the seller is throwing in the tuner. At least that was how I sold matching Tuner and Amps. The 3500 is a good entry level amp. Your price is the going rate I would expect them to sell for here. Typically, to buy a tuner, you can expect to pay $25 to $50 unless you are going for something special. Kenwood silver faced amps are favourites of mine.

Advents would be good with this system, as would KLH-17, probably EPI 100M, ads speakers, DCM TF-350, Sony SS-G3, Bose 301, Mission speakers (bookshelves), Mordaunt-short, Paisley Industries, Genesis, Book shelf Polk Audio, Tannoy C8 or C6, Realistic Nova 7Bs, basically any speakers that are fairly efficient. I just went through my list of equipment that I have or had, and these are the ones that jumped out at me. Keep in mind that you can get those Tannoys for $50, but they will need refoaming. Some of these will need refoaming, and that is why they are cheap. Keep that in mind when checking out speakers.

I recommend you bring the amp with you along with a smart phone with music and a cable from the phone to the Aux In of the amp.

Welcome to AK! :)
