Kenwood Tuner Recommendations?

poorman

Well-Known Member
I just picked up a minty Kenwood KA-701 integrated amp. I'm thinking of pairing it with my A/D/S L710s. Now I want to get a matching tuner.

Anyone have any recommendations (or cautionary tales) for a Kenwood tuner from the same time period (late 70s/early 80s)?

Thanks!

These are popular faves, though an earlier model line.

The KT-7500 is a great tuner, and the T.I.C. discusses how great it can be with a few mods done- good enough to rival $1000 tuners in some folk's opinions.

Poorman, I picked one of those up yesterday also. (Along with a Carver TX-11 tuner) If you run across a downloadable version of the manual let me know. This thing has more knobs than I'm used to. Not to mention the biggest volume knob I've ever seen!

The KT-615, 815, and 907 are the cosmetic matches to your 701...my signature is a KT-815 sitting atop my KA-701...one of my favorite 80s stacks!

I have a KT-6500. Even with a cheap dipole, it gets much better reception than the tuner section of my Sansui 7070 and my modern Onkyo tuner.
