Very nice!
I run mine with my restored Scott LK-72. A perfect match, though Sixs sound great with SS power as well.

I can verify that. Mine are connected to a Marantz 2225 and sound fantastic.

Were those the ones on CL in Broward County(South Florida)? I'd been eying those the last few weeks. At $80 it was a no brainer, but I have too many speakers now. Looking at his CL photos, I was guessing they are the older version with epoxied woofers and grills. Keep us posted and enjoy.

Yes sir, those exact same ones! The minute I saw them I was all over em. They are the older ones that are epoxied...The minute I got home with them my wife drag me out to go Christmas shopping so I haven’t had a chance to do anything with them. Will be playing with them later tonight

So, the guy said the speakers were his parents. He’s kept them stored safely in an air conditioned home forever. He kept saying he had radio shack and magnavox speakers that he uses but the KLH’s are better. I wanted to be like, why the hell aren’t you using these instead of course I didn’t. I asked what was used to drive ‘em and he said it was a Fisher 500B and he already had sold it a while back ‘ One of the sets is made out of some sort of flakeboard and the other one is another wood (he wasn’t sure of). One set is significantly heavier than the other. He said he’s been trying to sell them for a bit. First he had them listed for 300, then 175, and then 80...He said I was the only one to contact him when they were reduced at 80. I guess other people had contacted him previously But they were either weary of them working, or they wanted to pay next to nothing and have them delivered (which this guy wasn’t down with). When I asked him if he had any other equipment and he said he has a dual turntable. What ya know, I’m looking for a Dual TT!! LOL so he’s gonna grab it from his storage or wherever and call me when he has it. Anyways, I have tested each speaker. Listened extremely close, and have listened to hours of music on them this point. They sound AMAZING. I don’t hear one thing wrong. I’m sure somebody can tell me something to do, but I don’t see how the sound of these could be improved anymore. They just sound soooo good. I could just sit and listen to them ALL day (too bad Wifeys not on the same page - if I have to be dragged around for holiday shopping again, I may lose it!!!) A couple things...What would you guys suggest for livening up the finish on these things. They look pretty damn good already but I’m sure I could shine em up a bit. Murphy oil work? Also - - - I’m going to sell the second pair..I’m kinda hesitant to now beside their so amazing but I don’t need 2 pairs. So! If anyone is interested, please let me know. I have the original instructions and sales brochure for each set. I will be joint the barter town section in AK as well. Thanks for everyone for the extra push to go get em and the advice. Looking forward to sharing more in the future!!! Here’s some more pics! So happy with these!!!

You could try some Howards Feed and Wax on the finish. Someone from AK recommended that to me and it did the trick refreshing my 6's Walnut Veneer.

That paperwork with them is a nice bonus too. I'd put it in plastic sleeves and into the bottom of a drawer where they wouldn't get lost. I believe the paperwork is from the early set. The paperwork for later sets looks a little different.
If you are ambitious then later you could open up the early set and do the work on that pair too. There is an outside chance that early set has oil caps which may very well still be good, but at a minimum you'll want to dope the surrounds. The low end on the early models go a little deeper because of the epoxied woofers. I just prefer the early models because I get more of a sense of history out of them.
How about some pics of the terminal plates of all 4? I'm guessing that the terminal plates on the later ones are recessed, right?
To take the removable grills off the later models I believe you have to unscrew the badge. The badge usually has a wood screw on the back.

The speakers have the flush mounted back plate and epoxied grills. They were on the local CL for several weeks. Seller had some decent pics posted. I passed on them since I have pristine set. They only unknown is which caps they have.

Yes, correct. All epoxied. They sound great for my experience. I decided to keep the earlier models (lower serial numbers). Haven’t sold the other ones yet. I’d really be curious to find out the exact wood on the ones I have. The pamphlet I have on them show list of pricing, and the different woods available.
