If I had kids, and they did that to my Marantz 7 (not that I own one) ... :tears: I'd be pretty sad until I figured out how to fix it safely.

The seller should've tried to remove those carefully first, I bet they'll cost him a few hundred off the sale price.

See his 10b too, the poor thing (nice condition otherwise though!):

Ahh hell, I have a 5-year-old who is well-versed in the art of peeling stickers off. Anything. It can be done, trust me.

Certainly pissed-off my 14-year-old when he removed the labels off 40-some GameBoy games!

;)

give that 5 yr old a good high five :thmbsp:

Why did you assume "kids" did that? :scratch2: Looks like a neatly done job to me, not randomly applied stickers. I'd guess it was on purpose by the owner at a younger age when that might have still been "cool". :smoke:

You make an interesting point :scratch2: -- considering the early-80s sticker apperance, perhaps the ownership transferred then to the son or daughter of the original owner, who then pimped it out a bit. I suppose the value at that time was nowhere near what it is now, making it a less appalling prospect than it would be today.

You'd think they could have at least PAINTED the knobs instead of just applying those pesky stickers. Or better yet - engraved something onto the face plate.
