King Crimson 200 Grams reissues

Hello,

I really love these reissues. I have the five reissues they have done and I can't find any info about which album would be next.

Any of you got some info about that?

Here are the five that are released as of now.

In the Court of The Crimson King
Lizard
In the Wake of Poseidon
Larks Tongues in Aspic
Red

Not sure what you're meaning here, but Islands was 1971 and Starless and Bible Black 1974. Or, are you asking if anyone has any info on what's the next one coming out on 200g?
 
They are not the Steven Wilson remixes, they are the original master tapes.
They sound incredible, they sound better than any of my end of seventies reisues on Atlantic.

As for the EG remasters, I know some of those were made with copies of the original master tapes, but I never heard one...

As for what I'm looking for is the next one that will be reissued. I'M hoping it will be Starless, but I can't find any info...
 
Yes or No to the Steve Wilson question? I bought Red last weekend, but haven't got to it yet.

I would like to hear S. Wilsons remixes on vinyl, because they already sound better than my stock of old King Crimson LPs, especially Lark's tongues.
 
I did a comparison with my late seventies edition of RED and the mix looks to be the same. The remix are for the CD and DVD versions if I remember correctly.
 
I have the S.Wilson reissues on CD/DVD-Audio combo packs that were released over the course of the last few years. I wonder if the new 200 gram reissues are the same masters as i've got here?

As for vinyl i'm currently trying to fill out my collection of originals and Editions EG remasters...i wasn't planning on getting yet another copy of them but now I'm tempted...
 
The 200 grams reissues are done with the original master tapes and the original stereo mix.

That what the sticker says :)

Steven Wilson took the original mother tapes of those early releases and remixed all the tracks from analog and converted them to digital to create the amazing sounding CD/DVD-A packages.
What is unclear is if that same work was then pressed to these 200g vinyl reissues. It seems from all I have read the 200g reissues are newly remixed from the original mother tapes and approved by Fripp to be pressed to vinyl...but did SW do that or someone else?

Regardless of who did the remixing work these vinyl reissues are brilliant sounding! The only one that falls back a step or two is ITCOTCK due to how it was originally recorded, you cannot correct mis-aligned heads, but it certainly sounds better.

Lizard is amazing and so is Red.

Do you know which album will be pressed to vinyl next?
 
Just to clarify, the recent 200g vinyl reissues are, as has been said, from the original stereo master, NOT from Steven Wilson's remix/remasters, where he went back to the original MULTITRACK analog tapes. These multitrack tapes are at least one, and in several cases several tape generations younger than the stereo masters used for the LP reissues.

I am a huge Crimson fan and I bought all the 200 g LP reissues, and I agree that they are excellent. I think they are MUCH better than the EG reissues from a decade ago. That said, to these ears, the Steven Wilson remasters are all far superior sonically. I'm love vinyl, but here is one instance where the digital just sounds much better, IMO.

Nonetheless I wish we would get a 200g of "Islands" :D
 
I've listened to my new copy of Red a couple of times now. Once on head phones and once on the DQ-10's. Very, very nice SQ with that inky blackness between tracks me like so much. Well done.
