Kittens & Speakers

I have been adopted by 2 kittens (bragging, not complaining,) one is about a year and a half, the other is only 3 months. Both are fascinated with using my K Belles as play houses. Any suggestions on how to best keep them out of the back horn space & off the front grills? I adore the little bas-stids but my patience is being tried on a daily basis. No permanent damage to either the speakers or my furry charges, pls! TIA & regards, bobdrob

It's very simple. Use double sided tape. on the floor of the horn, where they walk.
You can use the blue painters tape under the double sided tape to prevent
leaving any glue marks.
cats paws are extremely sensitive, and they hate them stuck to anything.
keep those Bells looking great!
Will also work for the LaScalla's, and evenK-Horns small cats can fit inside them.

Yup, give them an attractive alternative and cardboard boxes are irresistible. My better half has catnip growing in a hanging pot out back and our three cats love it.
 
One other solution may be to tape some aluminum foil to the floor around your Belles temporarily. Never tried it myself but I've heard it works.
 
Play "Who Let The Dogs Out" on endless repeat for a few weeks.

You will likely incur some psychiatric cost for yourself after the effort but it should intimidate them.

I'm not sure about the cats but it would definitely keep me away
 
I have a pair of well loved BIC Venturi Formula IV and a pair of Lafayette bookshelf speakers out in "general population".
Some members of my crew will sit/walk on them, but I haven't had too much clawing activity.
The BIC's have replacement grills, so not too worried.

Bluetooth some angry cat sounds thru them works every time. ! lol
 
I find grills to be a bit too inviting for mine. I have had to put hardware cloth across the fronts of my karlsonators to keep the kittens out when they were small. Now they're all trained well enough that i don't worry about my grills. More concerned about the exposed tube amps...

The only time anything ever got damaged was when one of them had a massive seizure right next to a speaker, and it was just a cone that got punctured. Definitely excusable.

I found the 14" squares modular fence kit a dozen years ago. I have pieces from multiple kits. But careful, there are different wire thicknesses made and aren't compatible to each other. The wire is thin enough they sort of disappear.

So dimensions would have to be in multiples of 14".

My cats didn't climb the fence. Maggie's looking like nice scratching posts. I didn't take a chance. Maybe your kittens would climb?

I drape rugs over box speakers. And large hats on top, to discourage climbing.

Through thirty years of cats none of ours has shown the slightest inclination to scratch or otherwise defile any speaker or other audio equipment.
This restraint does not extend to woodwork or any furniture with fabric or leather, much to the annoyance of my wife.
