KLH 17 woofer repair

Hello all,
Disclaimer warning: I am a vintage audio neophyte. I want to preemptively apologize for incorrect terminology or any other general misstatements.

I recently stumbled upon a pair of KLH 17's for next to nothing. Their beauty convinced me to immerse myself in your world. One woofer is totally blown and will most likely need to be replaced. The other woofer is injured. Here goes...It looks like the cone has cleanly separated from the "spider"...the woofer produces scratchy sounds as a result. Is this repairable? Is there some glue/adhesive/technique that will connect and seal the base of the cone back onto the spider over the voice coil?

Does anyone out there understand what i'm saying :)

thank you in advance

Yes I understand what you are saying. Glueing the cone back onto the spider must be done in a way to assure it is perfectly aligned with the voice coil. I don't know how easy that would be to do.

If if were me I'd just get woofer pair on Ebay, and I've done lots of DIY...

wow...i am so nervous about ebay...having to buy an item that is so old and fragile scares the heck out of me...is the model 17 woofer interchangeable with any other models?

The KLH 17 woofer is the most common vintage KLH woofer size. It should interchange with almost any decent sized bookshelf KLH speaker except the 5, 12, and 23. E-bay or become a subscriber and post a WTB in Barter Town.
