KLH 17s vs Smaller Advents

Hi all,



I was recently given (by original owner) a nice pair of Smaller Advents.
They need refoaming.

My question: Having never heard a pair of Smaller Advents, can anyone comment on their overall sound and performance compared to KLH 17s?
I have KLH 17s (as well as many other classic vintage speakers), and would be interested in some comparisons prior to investing time and money on the Smaller Advents. I'll likely be giving them to a family member, but only if they are "worth" refoaming/re-capping.:scratch2:

IMHO It is hard to make an objective decision until after you hear the Smaller Advents. Definitely worth the effort to restore. I would keep the Advents after Refurbishing and give the 17's to the Relative.:yes: Let YOUR ears decide. YMMV.

Now I'm anxious to get busy and do some A/B auditions with he refurbished Advents and KLH 17s.

Its a good speaker and well worth the refoam and recap I have not heard the KLH 17's but that might be an interesting A/B.

I have both. Both are recapped.

KLH 17 is way better than smaller advent.

I'm even more intrigued now to compare them (see orionkc's post).

Maybe I'll end up keeping both and use the Smaller Advents for my work office. :thmbsp:
