KLH-3 Analog Bass Computer Power Supply

Will this plan work for a KLH-3 Analog Bass Computer (ABC) wall wart?

From everything I've read the ABC requires 13 - 14 VAC, 220ma, it draws 9 watts, and is an ac to ac adapter. I think the adapter below is correct, and I can just replace the connector with the one listed, or similar.

Am I doing this right? :)

I'd test it with a voltmeter before modifying. With (unregulated) DC wall warts, the specified voltage is supplied only when the specified current is being drawn. When the current is lower, the voltage is higher. Since this is AC, it may be just a simple transformer, so if the rating doesn't take current into account, you're probably OK.

There's probably a little flexibility; since AC power supplies like this are unregulated, their output voltage is proportional to their input. But I probably wouldn't want to go more than 10% either way.

Thanks much! From what you are saying, it won't explode and destroy the universe either way. I'd feel really bad if that happened.

ALWAYS test these power supplies. You actually can ruin equipment with them as many from china are WAY out of spec. I found out the hard way.

I have a set of KLH-3's. Attached is a shot of the wall wart which I believe to be original. I also have a brochure and operating instructions but nowhere are the power supply specs given.

Good Luck - great little speakers!
