KLH Model 12

So, Ive gotten my hands on a pair of 1968 klh model 12 speakers. I got them in working condition but unrestored. Used them for about a year until it became apparent that they had deteriorated a bit. Im awaiting the parts for a full restore of the boxes, my only remaining issue is that one of the woofers is in nasty shape and i cant seem to find any suitable replacements or even any parts. Im gonna try to operate on it myself but im managing my expectations. Anybody got advice for me? Or a woofer for sale?

Welcome to AK!, sit tight as I'm sure folks will be along to assist worst case scenario, If I'm not mistaken, they use the same woofers as the Model 5 which should be easier to track down

FYI, asking if anyone has anything for sale is considered a no-no per AK rules

Interesting. I had a pair of Model Twelves that I moved to the basement shop for refurbishment after purchasing. After the work was finished, they sat for a year before I relented and sold them on CL. Wonderful sound but they were too big for my living room or family room. Have you recapped the crossover boxes? Good luck.

Regarding the woofer, make sure you look at a picture of the replacement and match it to yours before you buy one. I believe the 12 has a woofer with two ceramic magnets glued together while the 5 and 23 only have a single magnet (or maybe it's the other way around).
