KLH Model 6 terminal question

I have a pair of KLH model 6 speakers I was putting new caps in and I took the hot lead terrminal lead apart and the insolater slipped from my fingers and now its MIA. I went to Lowes in hopes of finding a plastic washer but then found a rubber grommet that fits the hole perfect. Is this a suitable option for not grounding out my speakers on that metal backplate? It fits damn near perfect and when using a washer on each side it appears it will seal up nice.

If you're worried about unwanted electrical connections you could always assemble it and then do some continuity tests with a multimeter.

If you don't have confidence in the rubber grommet. Try a couple good hardware stores in your area. They can sometimes have more hardware variety than home centers. Nylon washers are definitely a specialty item.
McMaster Carr, MSC and other industrial or possibly electrical suppliers have a sellection. But, you have shipping cost. Cheaper than replacing an amp.

I have KLH 5's and 23's and I changed out the binding posts. Here is the original, pretty sure. 8-32 screw.

Its a crushible rubber washer that is snug in the hole and will flair out with washers , I reckon its not a conductor and it will seal the hole up, and it should last

You could replace the factory posts, without ANY drilling, with these from Madisound.
Then you could reinstall the originals if ever desired. They are very nice posts especially at $3.25 each:

Right. And those from Madisound don't require drilling in the metal plate BUT, like the originals, they need insulators.
When I looked for new posts for my KLH 5's and 12's, the metal plate holes had to enlarged to accept all the new plastic washers that came with possible posts.
