KLH Model Five

I just bought a nice pair of Model Fives and have them hooked up to an Onkyo SS receiver, they are warm and full sounding, and the cabinetry is really nice, with the chamfered front trim. One them has a replacement tweeter, looks like Peerless; sounds great, but doesn't fit the opening and I'll be looking for an original. The mids are original and look very much like those in those little KLH extension speakers that were used with the KLH FM radio of old.

Are these mids and tweeters used in any of the other speakers from the era? And is the crossover complex in this model, I see controls on the back for mids and highs.

2 different builds/versions of the same crossover exist for the Five. Same cap values. Fair amount of pieces and the board gets a little crowded with the new caps. RoyC, JKent and others over there at CSP will help line you up as they have me. Here probably as well.

Tweeters are available on fleabay all the time.
Also you want to re-seal the woofer surrounds, and mids. Also checkk that the cork plugs in the mid internal enclosure are in tact and if not seal them up with some air duct putty.
Roy C. can mix some up for you. Shoot him a PM.

Great sounding speakers!
