KLH Model Six Restore

Hey all, I got a pair of KLH Model Six speakers for free and I was curious about how I should go about fixing one of them. One speaker is fantastic while the other suffered some pretty bad water damage. I opened them and checked all the electronics, on the good condition speaker all the capacitors tested good and it sounds fantastic, tweeter and woofer, so I just left it. As for the water damaged one, the insulation looked pretty bad so I replaced it, the 8uf red planet capacitor was bad so I replaced it with a generic 8uf non polarized cap (let me know if I should get something better like a Mallory). The woofer metal frame and magnet were pretty corroded but it seemed to work, until I played them together. While the good speaker sounds great the poor speaker has a strong tweeter but very little bass, pretty noticeably less. If I crank the amp the woofer just blows air, doesn’t sound any better.

So I guess my main questions are:
1. Is it salvageable?
2. Do I need a new woofer?
3. Do I need a better quality capacitor?
4. Could it have anything to do with the poor quality job of whoever put on the sealing putty (see photo) as you can see in the top left of the woofer, it just comes over lip.

4. Bingo. Cabinet needs to be almost air tight or no bass.
Pressing down with three fingers around the dust cap, holding
for a few seconds, then releasing should result in a second or
two delay before return to default, or you've got too much air
leakage.

Yeah it bounces right back immediately so I’ll replace that, thanks so much!

Also woofer surrounds could need resealing. But try fixing the putty first.
