KLH Troubleshoot AV-55 tower speakers

Okay, I have a pair of KLH AV-55 tower speakers, a soft cone tweeter, mid, 12 inch driver and 12 inch drone, the left speaker has a static noise that I cannot pinpoint, I've taken each one out except the drone of course and the noise still stays, anyone want to help me pinpoint this problem ?

It may be in your amp/receiver. Have you tried using a different one? Also, do the speaker have pots (potentiometers) to adjust the mid or high frequency? They may be dirty, so you may want to take them out of the cabinet and spray some contact cleaner on them.
There are lot's of options, but those are the most simple I can think of.
