Klipsch Cornwalls Modifications.....Thoughts?

Mods to my 82 Cornwalls for what its worth:

1. Recapped crossover - no noticeable change
2. Replaced Mid horn with Pyle Pro Horn - Slight improvement
3. Replaced Pyle Pro Horn with Altec 511B - Another slight improvement
4. Replaced mid driver with GPA 902 - Slight improvement
5. Replaced tweeter with Beyma CP25 - Noticeable improvement
6. Sold speakers with original parts and replaced them with my Monitor Audio Silver 8i's (in storage for 5 years) - Biggest improvement!

It was a fun journey, if I had to do it all over again I'd replace the tweeter first and would have likely stopped there, I think....:scratch2:

Easy speaker to mod, enjoy the process:thmbsp:
 
Thanks guys........from all I read and the responce graph I saw in Klipsch Web site I want to explore the tractrix mid horn mod a bit more, as well as the tweeter upgrade.

Appreciate the responses guys- great food for thought!

I looked around and it seems these are the Crites xover upgrades- which I am sure are very nice!

Go to ALK Engineering. Al builds a number of x over upgrades for Klipsch speakers. I built a pair of his type b x overs for a friend of mine who has 76 Cornwalls. It's like night and day. A huge difference in sound quality comparered to the stock Klipch x overs.

Thanks so much for the information. I did a good stucy of this network and it looks to be of very good quality and indeed a sensible upgrade! I plan to now rebuild both networks with this design then see where I might go.
