Klipsch CP6-T issue

I recently bought a used pair of Klipsch CP6-T's for my deck to replace a pair of CP 4's that I liked a lot but wanted more bass! The issue is that they seem to resonate and the bass is more muddled than I expected. These are the commercial version with a multi tap switch that are set in this case to 8 ohlm bypass.
If anyone has any insights or advise please comment!
