klipsch id please

i think they are klipsch chorus
the seller only knows they are klipsch and they they produce 625 watts
there are no serial numbers or any indicators of any kind except the badge on the front.
he says he is the original owner

are they chorus? are they worth 300 ?
they are a 5 min drive from me and been for sale for a week

If the Forte owners say they are Forte, who am I to argue. I would have guessed Tangent 400.

I google pictures of Tangent 400 and I see two ports like in that picture and I google pictures of Forte and I see no ports.

I have Tangent 500s which have badge at the bottom, just like those, and images of Tangent 400. Forte also don't have badge in images I see.

Edit to add comment about value: If they are Tangents they are not highly regarded for cabinet build quality. Adding bracing is recommended (search here). But the drivers in those are the same as my Tangent 500s and the Heresy 2. (Tangent 500 is taller and has front mounted passive radiator woofer instead of ports.) I think $300 is high for Tangent 400. I'd pay $200 or less depending on condition. That gets you a bargain set of Heresy 2s with more bass. $300 is high imo as from what I've seen it will be tough to sell Tangents for that price. For $200 or less, I think (verify this on ebay) you can part out the T400 and get your money back.

I think that is true.

My Tangent 500s -- close cousin of T400s -- were listed on CL for months. I finally paid $150 and could have talked down, but under circumstances did not want to. Then I saw a pair with nicer cabinets for sale for $100. I was out of town but sent an email. They were sold. Then they immediately reappeared for $200 in same area for $200. Pretty sure they were same speaker someone was trying to flip. They sat on market for months before price was reduced to $125 and still haven't sold. That pair is nearly two hours away and I've got other projects now.

I'd buy Tangent 500s and 400s if local for $125 every day and sell the drivers on ebay.

Klipsch fans turn their noses up at Tangents. The badge on them says TANGENT and in smaller font "by Klipsch." I think the 400s and 500s are super bargain speakers in the $100 to $200 range. Just don't seem to sell for more. They are to Klipsch what the Mustang II was to the Fort Mustang line.
