When these were originally posted, I was questioning the year of manufacture, R denoting 1977, due to the more modern mids, tweeters and crossovers. This is a later post that explains it. I think the asking price then was $2K but not sure. Now, they are asking for bids which I think is a violation of CL rules? Maybe someone bought them and re-posted? Anyway, any idea of a fair price considering the replaced drivers and crossovers, albeit with later "Klipsch" components? They look beautiful!

As I recall, the Rosewood veneer added about $1500 to the price over walnut. There's some beautiful figuring in that wood, and you probably couldn't import the rosewood anymore.

Brazilian rosewood is in the CITES list, banned unless harvested before being placed on the banned list in 2010.

Thought it was 2007 and the tree had to fall naturally. 1977 it was free game! I'd buy those in a minute if local!!!!

You can still get rosewood, just not the big old beautiful pieces, and not the same species.

Mahogany is often the same. You simply cannot get the same size and quality anymore.
