Klipsch K horns Sale Value + Chorus 2

Does anyone want to take a shot for me as to the value of this particular pair of Khorns....looks like they have been stained cherry and have some cosmetic damage. I also have the option to parlay in a pair of Chorus 2's with damaged grills...the cabs are brown in color. Any input certainly would help me with an informed decision. Thanks in advance.

Guess that I will be the first to get the ball rolling. Not knowing what drivers are in them I would offer 900 for the khorns mainly because 1) The cabs will need to be refinished. (Granted you don't HAVE to have the cabs done but as a bargaining point that might help). 2) You would probably want to redo the crossovers which will cost some $$ as well as maybe getting a titanium diaphragm for the tweet.(the crossover could also be a bargaining point)
I am sure others will offer their opinions.
Maybe 400 for the Chorus II's with their damaged grills as a bargaining point. Crossovers might need a fresher upper as well.
1200-1600 for both.......:dunno: Could be low.

I guess that if you really wanted the khorns or II's then you will have to decide just how much you want them.

So i take it $2,500 for both would be a better deal for seller than me? I do not want anything bad enough to be way upside down.

I agree with Bucky, if it was the original Chorus it would be 1000-1200 easy for them. The K-horns need some work so I think 900 is good too. I think if he really wants to deal 1400 bucks cash in hand would be tops if you want both.

Otherwise there is no money to be made at 2500 and you will have to buy them as keepers if you have a "desire" for them.

2500 bucks is a nice price for Altec 19's or M9's from Sony

Refinished? They were never finished in the first place. Raw plywood cabs, as evidenced by the football in the last photo. I'd bondo those and paint them black. That's a lot of veneer to apply... They are somewhere between '71 and '83 if it's an AA crossover I see there.

I haven't seen K-horns for sale in my neck o da woods and I want em bad... so Id pop on these at 1k... too much work to make them the eye candy they deserve to be...

I wouldn't pay 2500 for the pair. If the khorns were in better condition, REALLY better condition then they could be worth 2500 but not as they are now. As G65 said, if you want them as keeper speakers then that's one thing but if you want to flip them you probably won't make much, if any $$. It all depends what you intend to do with them. 1500 for both pair would be my tops. Sell the Chorus and refurb. the khorns and be happy or sell the khorns and refurd. the Chorus. You will need a bit of room if you want to have the khorns sing so keep that in mind as well.

i like to bring them in....see what they have under the hood for a period of time and then at some point send em on down the road. I currently have all the heritage line in the stable except belle and k horn...also have a pair of Chorus 2. I was just curious about all the k horn fuss....although i know up front i do not have the corners. I talked with a guy that works out at the Klipsch plant and he showed me a picture of new khorns that they are nailing wooden panels on back of the speaker to give the corner "effect". I guess this is now a "option" on new orders?

I'm admittedly very partial to Khorns so I might pay a bit more than $900 if the components are original. Another finish option is to return them to their original state by sanding off the stain down to bare wood and then applying oil specifically formulated for bare wood (think butcher block). Klipsch did a great job of selecting wood grain for visual appeal even on their "decorator" models which is what these are. I have a pair of LaScalas in raw birch and really like the look.
