Klipsch KG 3.5 Impressions...

I recently found a set of Klipsch KG 3.5 speakers on Craigslist. The guy was asking $150 firm but I got him down to $120. They have black satin veneers and other than a few scratches they are in good cosmetic shape. I bought them to replace a set of Georgia Tech Audio Lab speakers I bought recently and plan to rebuild.

They don't image as well as the Georgia Tech speakers but sound really nice! I like the sound of Klipsch horns, I had a set of KG 2s previously and really liked them as well. I will say that the horns on these 3.5s are a bit harsh though so I ordered titanium diaphragms from Bob Crites and they should be here next week. I have heard nothing but good things about the upgrade so I'm anxious to hear the difference!

The bottom end is nice on these as well, good bass response without being overpronounced. They don't extend quite as low as I would like them too but if anything I'll find a decent sub to pair with them. No noticeable midrange flaws either, all around a great speaker for the price IMO.

Is there anyone else here that has done the titanium diaphragm upgrade on a set of Klipsch horns from the KG 3.5 era? If so I'd like to hear your opinions!
