don't really know the question so I'll guess you would like to know the differences...kg4s are in part a design collaboration between Paul Klipsch and Gary Gillum (the k and g) and are closer to the original more budget friendly Klipsch speakers (when your only other choice was the regular or now called Heritage speakers...
The KG 4.2s and later 4.5s should sound similar to each other using slightly different methods to get their sound...the much earlier kg4s will sound different but may sound closer to "extended" Heritage speakers and seem to be more sought after than the later 4.2s and 4.5s made closer to the reference period...
I'm sure more will chime in here with better explanations than I have provided but hopefully this will get something started for you...

Don't really like the Klipsch two ways as there seems to be some bandwidth missing(or at least attenuated). Of the three, the KG4.2 is the best and then followed by the KG4.0. Don't even know what they were thinking with the KG4.5 but it's definitely supposed to be part of a 5.1 or 7.1 system. At the price these sell for a Klipsch Quartet would be much better.

I have a question: I also see some old KG4.5 and 4.2 on sale, and looking at their photos, I noticed that these have narrower profiles, whereas the KG4 is much wider, will this make them sound very different? I presume 4.5 and 4.2 are newer products, will they be worth replacements for the 4s? I especially wish to play classical music in big scale (like orchestra pieces) with huge dynamic contrasts, which of these speakers is best?
In general, would appreciate some good comparisons among these models.
