Klipsch KG5 .5 Speakers

A friend of mine has a pair of Klipsch KG5 .5 speakers that he might be wanting to sell me. Just wondering how they would match up with my Sanyo JCX 2400k
which i believe puts out about 50 WPC and says it handles 4-16 ohms with two speakers (I just got it and don't even have speakers yet.) Just wondering how efficient these speakers are. I couldn't find much on them. Thanks.

I think they (5.5) are very efficient, like most all Klipsch speakers. I had a pair of KG4's and they were great! If reasonable, you should jump on them, if you don't like, should be no trouble to sell.

i've got a pair of the kg-4.2's. i love them! from what i have read, the 5.5's are like mine, but with bigger woofers. the 4.2's are rated 95db. you should be able to find the specs on klipsch's website.
 
So i got the speakers and they sound great. Except sometimes with heavy bass at moderate to loud volume one of the top woofers starts to crackle and distort. None of the other drivers crackle. I tried cleaning the contacts and such on the amp but it's still doing it. Could it be my amp clipping? or does that only distort the tweeters? Any advice on how to fix it or what might be wrong? Thanks
 
A burnt voice coil rubbing might do that. You will have likely have to replace that driver. On a pair of 5.5's it would be worth it. They are the flagship of the line and a fine loudspeaker. Even better if they are oak or walnut.
