Klipsch KLF-20 midrange wave guide failure

Was listening to these speakers today and the center image was far to the right. Pulled the grills and found the squawker on the side not playing. Removed the horn and found the compression driver broken off and lying on top of the woofer. The wave guide threaded section for the compression driver had cracked circumferentially and separated from horn section. You can see it in the picture below....the crazy glue has turned the plastic white above and below the crack.

The compression driver is still good per a continuity check.

Am going to try crazy glue to reattach the threaded section to the horn section.

Anyone every had a Klipsch wave guide fail like this?

Reinstalled the squawkers today. So far the super glue repair is holding.

I wouldn't trust the super glue to completely solve that problem. Even though it looks good, I'd re-enforce it with fiberglass mesh and epoxy.

Any hobby or auto parts store (even WalMart) should have the mesh. One quick wrap around with the epoxy will keep that joint together forever.

Have you read anywhere else about this failure?
