Klipsch LaScala Cabs, Altec Drivers

Thanks for the explanation Bill. You certainly helped me with my project.

My concern here is all the hard, shinny surfaces and the lack of warmth in the room.
In the project I was involved with the speakers were about the same size, large Cerwin Vegas and in the corners of a very similar room with nothing but a dance floor and glass enclosed DJ room.
When the dance floor was full of people it sounded fine. When only a few were dancing it sounded absolutely terrible and very harsh with lots of reverberation from the floor and glass.
We built plywood boxes 15" high, filled them with sand and the room came to life at any volume.
Point taken, totally different speakers and sound concept.
The idea of the Altec Horn matched with the lascalas is very interesting indeed. I would say they are true "Bastard" speakers that look like they are ready to kick some ass! :D

Gary,
The restuarant and theatre owner found out just what a 55 watt/channel amp could do, he turned it up to midpoint, by the time he turned around and looked back, his son had run over 40' to get away from the speakers, they scared the $hit out of him, then the SPL police showed up (restuarant staff, once again, they thought I was driving the volume control, nope the owner and boss this time!!). I reminded the owner that these speakers could be used across the street at the theatre for special musical movies like Chicago for a special audience treat. Dave.
