I'd wait and spend the $300 on a pair of JBL 4410's or 4412's - more accurate, later and better driver / crossover technology, and just as interesting. besides, you'll still get pretty much the same value when it comes to selling them.
Classic JBL's are always a good investment, especially if you're patient and wait for the right speakers at a bargain price.

The 4410A's image better than many of the other JBL's in the house, and def win for me over the 4310's(late), 4311B's, L100A's I have. To a degree, I prefer them over the 4312BMkII as well.If you find a pair of 4412's for $300, I'll take all you can get off your hands.
I'd wholeheartedly agree on the 4410's. I picked up a pair of 4410A's with a crown D75 amp and flipped the amp for more than I paid for both. The 4410A's image better than many of the other JBL's in the house, and def win for me over the 4310's(late), 4311B's, L100A's I have.
