Hi guys,
I am looking for educated opinions on the Klipsch R-620F, currently $175/speaker at Best buy. Https://www.bestbuy.com/site/klipsc...or-speaker-each-black/6241804.p?skuId=6241804 Specifically, how they compare to the 820f. I would be using them for CD/streaming with either the Rockville blutube amp https://www.rockvilleaudio.com/blutube/ or my 1984 sansui sx1130. They would go in place of a pair of kenwood kl999z that have good highs and lows but lacks some mids. I am open to other speakers at a similar price point. Thanks.

Haven't heard the R-620F, but if there was ever a speaker that I’d want to audition before purchase - preferably in my home and with my own electronics - it would be Klipsch. Make sure that whomever you purchase from will allow you to return it if it doesn’t sound right in your own home and with your own gear.

This is a few days old now, and that Christmas in July sale is mostly over. So you've likely moved on.... if you did buy them, let us know if you like them or not....
I had a set of these back in May, i bought them at $250 each so the sale you saw was even better at $175.
I think they would be hard to beat for a good value at $175 ---- or 350 a pair.
At full price there may (notice i said "may" ) be other choices that would be similar or possibly better.
I was using a 55 watt receiver to drive them when i had mine, and it would get plenty loud as these are like most Klipsch products ( that I have seen anyway) ...... a high efficiency speaker.....
I notice that there isn't a huge fanboy base for Klipsch here on AK, especially the newer product lines which are manufactured in China .... even though there is a dedicated forum for Klipsch- that is mostly the Old School, Heritage series Klipsch, which were and are made in the USA. I wouldn't let the China stamp dissuade me , the are many good products coming out of China- if it was designed and engineered in the USA or Europe then it is likely still a good product.
Some people see things different.
I listened to a set of Heresy II speakers at a friends house, and they sounded fantastic in my opinion, my only comment was the bass was a little thin for my taste. They were very clear and tight .
I think ultimately i may end up buying a set of Heresy speakers one day , but at the moment i have a set of Zu Omen "Dirty Week End" speakers coming from another AK'er who bought a second set of them in a different cabinet finish......
