klipsch rf-5's for vinyl?

hi everybody,
i have a chance to pick up a pair of rf-5's for what i think is an attractive price (can we talk $ here or only on dollars and sense?) i'll be using them almost exclusively for music--not ht--on vinyl, fed from a pioneer sx-850. does anyone in the korner use rf-5's for vinyl? should i keep looking into them?

same horn as the RF7 why would you not look into them? Bigger horns are better than smaller horns. There are reasons why you don't see many of these for sale as they tend to stay with their original owners for a long time. Check them out and decide for yourself.
 
ya i hear you and i love treble so big horns and what many might call "bright" or "harsh" is right up my alley. i just know that everybody loves the heritage speakers for vinyl, but those are way outside my budget right now.
 
I've used many different reference series for vinyl RF-3, RF-82, RP-3, RF-7 and my RF-63 (my personal favorites) and have enjoyed them all.
I'd grab the RF-5 for vinyl if given the chance.
 
The problem is not the fault of the speaker, though metallic tweeters can have HF resonating problems. Mostly Its going to be the electronics and the phono cartridge. Buy compromised tubes, or screechy SS and with the wrong cartridge; you will be running out the house yelling and screaming in pain. This can happen with Heritage products with titanium tweeters,too. And though I prefer the bass of todays Heritage speakers I prefer the highs of the first generation heritage speakers.
