First post from a audio junkie. Just ordered rf-82 ii to replace my polk audio monitor 70 ii. I'm really excited to what I call crossing over from pretty decent to high quality. I've never heard these beauties before but I've researched them extensively online. Just wanted to see if anyone has a opinion on them. I'll be powering them with a Onkyo tx-rz820, 130wt per channel.

I have been using a pair of those exact speakers for quite some time now. I power them with a Carver TFM-45 power amp at 375 watts.

They sound really great, they are crystal clear and you will hear things in the music you never heard before. I only listen to compact discs and these speakers are so revealing that if it was a poor mastering job you will hear it right away.

They are very efficient speakers so your Onkyo at 130 watts should have no trouble at all powering them. I never have to turn my pre amp past 11O'clock to get more than enough loud clear volume.

I found placement with these speakers made a real big difference with their sound. After much experimentation I settled on about 10 to 15 feet apart depending on your room size. At least a couple of feet away from the wall as they are rear ported. Also toed in so both speakers are pointed to my center seated (lazyboy chair) listening position about 15 feet away from the speakers and most importantly for my listening space was raising the speakers 10 to 12 inches up off the floor (I built my own custom speaker stands to achieve this).

Good luck with your new speakers, I certainly hope you get as much enjoyment out of them as I do mine.
 
Thank you northguy for the response and you're thoughts on the klipsch rf-82 ii. I was able to order them at midnight tonight. I'll get them Wednesday. I'm extremely excited about this purchase. Now I'll have 2 polk audio monitor 70 ii for sale. Time for Craig's list. I'll let you know what I think of them. I'm sure I'm going to love them.
 
I had both pairs and I can tell you that the Klipsch will be not a small but huge improvement over the polks, when you get them you will see what I am talking about :)
