Great speakers. That rotel will do just fine although 200wpc might be considered overkill for a 100db speaker.....
I sell Klipsch, and I've listened to RF 83's and 82's side by side many times. IMO the RF-82's are a better deal. About 1/3 the price and 98% of the performance.
RF 83 = 29Hz-21kHz +/-3dB - 100dB @ 2.83V / 1m - $2,798 Pair MSRP
RF 82 = 33Hz-23kHz +/-3dB - 98dB @ 2.83V / 1m - $1,098 Pair MSRP
IMO the Best Klipsch makes for under $4k is the Cornwall III. $3750 pair MSRP

I have RF83's. You don't have to have a sub with them. Not for a small room! I was going to buy RF7's to match my RB-75's, but when I heard the RF-83's I thought the sound was more defined. Excellent rock speaker, should be able to hear them on the southside of the lake, with 200watts RMS! I prefer to use 30-55w vintage tube power.....just a great match for Klipsch IMO.
I've heard that the RF-83's have noticably more bass...3 eight in. woofers in stead of 2 woofers. Also higher power handling too...

I bought the RF-83's last year and also the RF-82'sand I also run the JBL, L7's and the L7's are by far the best .
When I first got my RF-83's , I found them very disappointing, boxy boom sound and the horn's shrilling sound. I posted this in Bob crites auto transformers and got some really good info , first I had to go tubes on the horns, which works great. But on my own I had to put in some more wood reinforcement on the inside,taking all the drivers out to do this, gusetting the corners and dampening with 1in egg crate foam, they are much better now. But I did notice an ad on the RF-83's were it say's now with extra reinforment.
I also Bi-amped, driving the horns with tubes and the three 8in drivers with SS amps, lots of power and output, but back to the horn's, if you do that, I would put a 8ohm load on the tube amp as I found the horns take nothing to drive them, that the volume control on the tube amps was hard to adjust as it was loud at any position. So I did not want to chance that and for now , I loaded it with 2, 8ohm speakers placed in the basement, were one can not hear it, but for now it will do, I am afraid that the induction of the two 8 ohm speakers can affect the sound of the horns.
I listen to pipe organ music only, and is very demanding on speakers, the RF-83's have no problems with that, a great speaker that way.
The RF-82's I found a much better sounding speaker, at least for me, but it has been improve 10 times by switching over to tubes, advise taken from the Bob Crites Autotransformers thread There is some great info on that thread with pictures.
