Klipsch RW 12d 120V Sub Power Problems

Hey,

I recently acquired this used sub, and have had problems getting power. Changed out the cord and fuse, and it did not help.

Took off the panel and was hoping it was a wire problem and was dumbfounded/horrified at what I found. Besides the obvious, there was what looked liked super glues as well in some spots. Any help would be appreciated!

That adhesive is super common in plate amplifiers. Keeps things from rattling to pieces and prevents "chuffing" sounds that would happen if air was allowed to escape around those components. Looks 100% factory original to me (I had opened up one of those about a year ago to replace the display/controller so I'm familiar with what they look like).

Appreciate the heads up on it.

Any tips on solving the power problem? The small display won't turn on. It flickered once. Could it have to do with the burned adhesive in the 6th picture?

Hard to say since those subs need both the amp and the display to function.

The power supply control board is toast. The amp will need to be rebuilt. The glue is factory and also what causes the problem.
