Klipsch "theatre" speakers???

Wow, I just got a lead on some possible good stuff here. Talked to the owner breifly and did not discuss exact model numbers but he needs to move 2 sets of speakers in storage that he does not need or have room for since downsizing. A pair of JBL studio monitors and (He called them Klipsch) Theatre speakers. Did Klipsch make any "theatre" speakers. I immediately thought about Altec VOT with the big horns. He did say they had horns but don't all Klipsch have horns? Anyway I'm interested to say the least and need to follow up but was wondering if anybody knew anything about these "Klipsch" "Theatre" speakers.... Peace out.

Oh yeah they do! Look up the Klipsch KPT series. I had a chance to listen to some KPT-904's with my 15wpc tube monoblocks and they were AMAZING! They had dual 15" woofers in the bass bins and a horn tweeter on top.

Someday I will own some gigantic horn loaded speakers.

Oh, my!!! Well My interest is peaked even more now. I have no idea which model of theatre speakers he has but Jubs would be outstanding, and I guess expensive.
 
If they turn out to be Jubs and you are from the deep south
plan on having a few of us drop in to hear them. :yes::music:
 
I'll let you know. I'll have to arrange a visit and its a 2 hour drive one way. No big deal. Will have to try and pin down exactly what they are when I call to arrange an inspection.
 
I know, I was vicariously hoping for the OP that they were Jubs or something cool along that line even though I would immediately be jealous.
 
There was recently a pair of MWM's on ebay (might still be there for all I know)

As someone who's not only heard both....but owned both.... the MWM's are Jubilee killers, if... you can deal with their enormous size.
 
If they are the KPT-250, you can build a nice set of Industrial Heresy (e.g. KP-250) speakers by 'boxing' out the chassis to standard Heresy dimensions. They don't go very low, but they go LOUD. Pair them with an efficient subwoofer, however, and you'll be fine.

I did follow up. Now they are in the back of the storage locker with too much piled in front. Can't get to them. Somebody just moved and he let them store their stuff. Maybe he will call me back someday.
