Klipsch?

I spotted a set of what the seller’s tag called Klipsch speakers at the flea market today. There are no markings on the speaker. It has three 6 or possibly 8 inch speakers and a horn on the front and what looks like a 12 inch woofer on the bottom of the back. They are about 40 inches high. I would place the vintage to be from the 80’s. Does anyone have an idea as to what the model number might be?

the 3 woofers and probably passive radiator on the back doesn't seem right....the only ones I know with passive radiators on the back were from the heritage line, but maybe there is such model, eh I'm no help
 
Thanks Musical ---these are the same ones that I saw today. how would these match up with AR-58S and Boston Acoustics t930's in an HT setup?
I can obtain these for less than what it takes to fill 2 twenty gallon gas tanks. Is their anything special about their sound?
 
I like mine. They seem to work best in a large room. They pair well with a lot of amps. You should grab them for sure.

I think they were called Kapish. The guy kept saying that. "They're the best! Kapish?"

Don't know why he always said it like it was a question though.

Okay, I'm not sure what to think. Were the speakers called "Kapish" or was the seller Italian?

All kidding aside, I think you may have found a pair of the dreaded white van speakers. But I have been wrong before.

Sorry about that. I was just kidding the whole time. For some reason I cannot insert smileys, pictures, links, quotes, or anything else. All the graphics are dead.

I depend on the smileys to indicate kidding and sarcasm. It's not easy without them.

Well, if the speakers sound alright, then you didn't lose anything, right?:thmbsp:

Hey, you never know. You might have bought a set of cheap speakers that are tweakable.

I like to go over to the "vinyl only playlist" thread from time to time and say I'm listening to albums from acts like Dell Paxton, Spinal Tap, the Wonders, The folksmen, etc. just to see if anybody is actually reading the posts on that thread, or just posting. So far only one guy caught it with Spinal tap's Shark Sandwich. Pretty funny.

I should have known it when one of the speakers collapsed when a friend sat on one. As far as I know, Klipsch uses more than 1/4" thick particle board for their speaker cabinets. It is also the first time EVER that I have seen a PLASTIC speaker basket. At least it was molded and not "stamped" plastic...

I've been following the white van speaker thing since before the internet. ;)

And on a side note, although I cannot insert anything, even smileys, I can at least do these two :) ;) the old fashioned way. :)

And It was bakelite, painted silver to look cool :D

Your story lacks credibility.

The "White Van" scam has been over for at least 10 years. It's blue vans now. Apparently you didn't get the memo.
