Knight KN-300 receiver and KN-MX3 Multiplex Adapter

Hi. I purchased this a while back from a family that found it in a cabinet that had been sealed off for several years. It is still functional. I'm able to listen via the aux function, I tried hooking my turntable up to the LO PHONO jack but didn't get anything.

Does anyone know how much there units are worth? Do they go together?

FWIW I had the Knight TOTL tuner from the same era. Even after restoration it sounded poor on FM. I can't speak to the rest of your receiver, I just want you to have realistic expectations for the FM. Good luck! The cosmetics on your unit are exceptional for a unit that old; it should have some market value.

Thanks for the reply! I haven't tried the FM yet. Not much of a radio listener. I'm definitely more interested in using it for my vinyl. Thanks

HI, I don't know much about the value but regarding Phono....... the inputs for Phono Hi, Lo and Tape Head all go through a separate pair of tubes, usually 12AX7s so you could check those. Also, those input jacks look like they could use a DeOxit or some cleaning (and I am sure the function selector could, too.)

For kicks you can plug a magnetic cart into the Tape Head input just to see if those tubes and that part of the circuit is working. The EQ will not be right for RIAA playback but it will test the circuit and it *might* be listenable. I like to check all non-parts fixes first before jumping in. Phono Hi is for ceramic carts and although it actually goes through the phono preamp, there is a hi value resistor to knock the signal down so it doesn't overload the next stage. Not many of us use a ceramic cart except maybe in a console.

I have a Knight integrated tube amp from roughly the same era and it is a decent performer.

I have a Knight KN 300 I had rebuilt, and it needs a new rebuild right now. When I say rebuild it means the system does not have the volume it once had I suspect it requires new capacitors. I have replaced the large silver electrolytic capacitors by removing the capacitor guts and placing a smaller foot print cap of the same capacity inside the shell. Now I noticed that the original post has a case. Mine does not have a case, but because it's a tube unit I liked it that way. but now I might want to get a case, but I want a wooden one, What do you think. PS if anyone need them I have Sams Photo Fact folder There is 12 pages.

A couple of things, I see this is your first post so welcome to AK and here's hoping you enjoy your stay here.

This section you posted in is primarily for asking about value such as "is this worth it?" "how much do these sell for?" etc

A wooden one would be cool but it looks like you'll have to have one fabricated it seems based on the catalog info, cases were an optional purchase back then and it looks like only metal.
