Known Issues in 70s/80s components

Hi,
Working on a SX-3500. Are there any known common issues with components? For example:
Are transistors proven to become leaky/noisy?
Do diodes/zeners drift?

In an RT tape deck the transistors become noisy requiring testing or replacement.
