I have an old pair and the pads are collapsed.

The disinformation superhighway has quite a few suggestions from repacking with fiberfill to sending back to Koss for repair. Also indicates that Koss will send new pads for $5 or the like.

What I didn't find was any clear instruction on how the pads are attached, how to remove them, and how to install new pads.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I’ve had my Koss Pro4AA’s since the 1970’s and they still sound great. I purchased replacement ear cushions from Koss several years ago and they are perfect. Hard to describe the replacement procedure, but they are held onto the earpieces by a flexible lip that fits over edge of the earpiece. Start by pulling the cushion edge away from the earpiece on bottom of the earpiece and you’ll see what I mean. The old ones will peel right off. A little tricky to get the new ones installed, but not terrible. Just start with one side and be patient as you work your way around.

Call Koss. They have a lifetime warranty $5 per transaction fee. At least that's what they used to do.

They are really easy to replace.

Thanks All!

Geez - that was easy once I knew that there wasn't a glued attachment. Just didn't want to destroy anything in the process.

I'll get in contact with Kloss and try to get some replacement pads and exercise patience getting them on the headphones.

As of this date, KOSS finally has the replacement earpads back in stock. A couple of months ago they had the pads but not the screen inserts for them. Now they are shipping again.
In the USA, the replacement pads for the Pro4AA cost $5.00, plus $0.46 sales tax, with NO shipping charges. Order through their website. Mine arrive on Monday, February 9, 2026.

My replacement earpads arrived on Monday, 2/9/26, as expected.
My old earpads are 51 years old, and the vinyl plastic has stuck solidly to the metal surrounds. I had to cut them off and peel the plastic edge from the metal surrounds.20260210_190348.jpgAfter cleaning dust and residual dead skin cells from the area under the earpads, I began to study how to mount the new20260210_185709.jpgpads. Rather than stretch them to fit over the ear cup (and have the rear side of the pad come out while attempting to stretch the front side), I found this to be the trick:

The new earpads have little "teeth" that slide in and under the metal surrounds. The outside of the pad is dull black, and the inside of the pad is shiny black with the little teeth and the words "Koss" & "Front." The earcup is rounded in the front and flatter on the back.
Turn the earpad inside out, with the teeth showing (pic 2). Lay the screen with its flat edge to the rear, and place the shiny side of the earpad down with "Front" facing the curved side of the cup. Roll the teeth down over the metal surrounds, and try to push as many of them in at the same time as humanly possible. Once most of them have gone into the slot, you can stretch the remaining few into place.
If necessary, you can adjust the screens back to the center with a little thumb pressure.

Not difficult, but knacky, and it took me several tries with each cup to get it on. Here are the finished phones, in pic 3.20260210_193855.jpg
