Here is my system. First picture is the close-up and the second one shows the "listening space”. The fence is to protect gear from a curious 3-years old audiophile.

Digital source –Cambridge Audio 640C V.2

Digital recipient – Philips CDR 785 CD Recorder

Tape source – None yet

Vinyl source –Mitsubishi LT-30

Cartridge – Dynavector Karat 17D2 mk2

Tuner & Integrated Amplifier 1 – Nakamichi TA-4A

Tuner & Integrated Amplifier 2 – Luxman R-117

Speakers – Vandersteen 2CE Signature

Interconnectors- Atlas Equator Mk II and Soundsilver Trilogy

Speaker Cables- Zebra Cables, Biwired

Power Conditioning – PS Audio Duette Power Center

Rack – Lovan Matrix

Music I Listen to –Easy Listening, Jazz, Soft Rock, Disco, Pop

What’s in plans: hook up the Nakamichi RX-505 cassette deck that should arrive in a couple of days. Get the Nakamichi Dragon fixed and hook it up. Upgrade Luxman (recap, new opamps and speaker terminals) and decide between Luxman and Nakamichi. Finish upgrading the 640C CDP (completely recap and change all opamps in the DAC board) and decide if I would like to keep it or upgrade. Finish upgrading the LT-30: install bottom, new headshell and re-wire the tonearm with Cardas or the like.

Distant future plans: go separates with Nakamichi CA-7A preamp and Yamaha B-2 V-FET power amp.

Very nice system you have there. Looks like you figured out the small fingers potential early on. :)

Gheheh, dumb me is moving the system to a different room (1st daughter is gonna walk soon). You've got it sorted out well. ;)

I love the fence! Having a couple of tiny future audiophiles in my own house, I completely understand! My approach has been to put everything up high, out of reach. It's been ...moderately successful.

I like the Lovan rack a lot, too.

SOUND THE ALARMS!!!! One of the speakers escaped !

It didn't escape, the little one just grabbed it and moved there:D

By the way, comments regarding strengths and weaknesses of the system and thoughts on how to improve it are greatly appreciated.
