KR-7060 (7600) Protection Relay

Hi Folks -

On a recently acquired KR-7060 receiver (switchable voltage version of the KR-7600) There is what seems to me to be slightly odd behavior.

The relay clicks about 2 seconds after power up, which is the same as my other 7600. The odd part is that it takes another second or to for music to start playing after the relay engages.

On the other 7600 the music starts immediately with the relay engagement, which I assume to be normal.

Is the delay after relay engagement a problem or an indication of a failing component?

Thanks in advance!

I might have figured this out - looked closely at the relay and it looked to be crooked. A closer look found that the clear plastic cover wasn't attached and just hanging loosley, and probably interfering with the mechanism. Someone probably tried to clean the contacts and didn't reattach the cover. I have a new spare on hand - will replace it and see what happens.

Well........that wasn't it. Although it now has a shiny new relay installed. Any idears?

2 seconds seems to be a bit quick
.unrelated to 2 seconds click maybe the main filter caps are charging up slowly for some reason .. are they original and factory spec ?

Thanks Pete - I'm going to say they are original. They are big black suckers that say ELNA 12000uf.
