KR 7600 Repairs

There is so much more to it than just re-capping.

Right now, I want my receiver to work again, but I don't have the knowledge, tools, or time to fix it myself. I believe this board would walk me through a complete refurbish, but I still don't have the time or tools. I'm not planning to trade off the 7600. I will likely get a chance to completely restore her in the future, but I can't afford to pay someone to do that now, and I can't do it myself now. I also think my initial poking around should be through the guts of something I care a little less about. I looked at some "cleaned up and working well" 7600s up for sale on the webs and the prices have gone a little crazy. I guess all the 9600s got bought up.

Got her back Saturday. Main issue was shorted windings on protect relay. He changed out a few transistors, cleaned and deoxed everything. Sounds and looks beautiful. Very pleased.

My wife felt that buying those books and leaving them lying around would somehow make us wealthy. Apparently, it makes Mr. Ramsey wealthy. I feel if I read them I will just feel guilty for not being able to listen to Pandora over the AV system like everyone else.
