Ok i got this unit cleaned up, i tested the output transistors, they tested good, but i still get no sound in the left channel, if i hooks speakers to the "B" terminal on the left side and switch the selector to B i get extremly low sound out of the left side, I have to almost turn it all the way up to hear it. Any ideas?

At least it is fairly clean... ;)

Can you get any signal upstream of the speaker switch?

Is there an "Adapter Out" connection on the back of that receiver? If so, do you get signal from that at normal levels?

yes it has the jumpers like the sansuis do, i found on broken wire that goes to the chassis, i doubt thats the issue but iam soldering it now.

Could be QI 1 or 2 wich are transistors or a IC I1 as listed in the manual wich are all on the control board where the volume control are, both transistors check out, i do not no how to test the ic. wich is a upc1016c and the transistors are 2sc1345's

I use a KR-6600 as my main. I own more powerful receivers, but this unit has been Mr. Reliable (knock on wood) and seems to have a depth my other receivers don't have.

Does the "Mono/Stereo" switch have any affect on the left channel? If so, the problem may be upstream of that in the FM detector, muting, or TAPE SOURCE and SELECTOR switches. If the MONO mode does not produce about equal volume from both channels the problem may be downstream, in the pre and final audio amp stages or speaker selector.

The switch dont seem to have a effect, i took them apart and cleaned them well, i know there in good working condition now.

I replaced 2, 2sc1345 transistors on the preamp board with no change, I ordered a new op amp ic, the upc1016c , if that dont solve the problem its time to break out the scope and dig deeper, i even swapped the power transistors from one side to another and its the same, i trippled checked and deoxed the switchs for source selections and speakers, it has to be that IC.

Ok, I replaced 2 transistors and the IC op amp as stated on the service manual for no sound on one side, its still the same, I do not know where else to look.

On the back of the receiver there is the 2 jumpers that cross the out and input , when i hook a sepperate amp to the outs both channels work so that part is ok, its something from there.
