Kr9600 question

I've got a bunch of parts ordered for the 9600, I'm going to do the upgrade to the regulator resistors. Going to replace the two 120 ohm Rr1 & Rr2 with 1 75 ohm 25 watt mounting it to the metal portion of the frame. Rr3 &Rr4 will be replaced with new of the same kind? New transistors Qr1 &Qr2... I'll replace all the caps on the power supply and amp boards. I received the new TA200-W replacement. I was thinking of replacing all the lights with LED lights, but read comments from a bunch of people that say they really don't like them compared to the incandescent bulbs, so not sure which I'll do there. I'm hoping for some help when I get underway?

I've put LED's in for people that wanted them in. They didn't look real bad but I think incandescent is better.

When pulling the bottom lamps out I found the rubber bulb holders were the same size as the openings and were held in place with a white substance that crumbled away. They would just fall right out/in. When I replaced them I glued 5/8" washer hose gaskets on them then glued the washers to the housing. Just enough to hold them in place where they could be removed easily if needed.

Also, I used 8v 50ma 4mm bulbs for the function lamps. They go in real easy. Wish others were as easy.
These lamps go into a rubber boot that are pushed onto two pins that supply the voltage. You only have to slide them off the pins just far enough where you can lift them up to remove them. Don't even have to pull the circuit board off. Be sure you don't slide them off too far where they drop into the opening. Don't know how hard it would be to get them out or how far in they go.

Put them on like the old ones then put back on the pins.

Don’t use LEDs for the indicator lamps(PHONO AM FM etc). The 9600 uses these indicator lamps to discharge the relay timing cap on power off. If you use an LED, there will be a delay in the relay opening on power off, and it will pop through your speakers.

I was always partial to using incandescent bulbs. But they kept burning out. I put LEDs in a KR 7600 which is from the same series as the 9600 and they are great. It remains to be seen how long they last. I don’t use the receiver much.
