KUBE 107 Power Supply part number(s)?

My question is....are there more than one KEF power supply part numbers that will work on the 107 KUBE or vice versa?

I have a KUBE PS (sp2104) that came with KUBE 102. From what I have it looks like the 5 PIN KEF plug on the power supply will fit the 3 KUBEs I have. Also have a 103/3. But are they interchangeable? Is there a list of what KUBE PS part numbers are interchangeable on which KUBEs if any?

Here is the list of what I have:

102 KUBE (sp2113) with a factory KEF power supply (sp2104),

103/3 KUBE (sp2115) with no power supply.

107 KUBE with no power supply.


Will the PS sp2104 work on the 107 KUBE? I have the Rane RS-1 that can be modified to work if not.

Hi Brad,
Since you haven't gotten response to this, I'll have a go. The 107 Kube uses a 23VAC input. I believe the 103/3, and likely the 102, use an 18-0-18 AC voltage or 36VCT. I'm pretty certain about the 107 as there are schematics and pictures on the web showing it. I've only seen comments from users about the voltage of the others.

I'll add two cents here; The R107 Kube is SP2105, and I have one of my Kubes with PS SP2104. This would seem to make some numerical sense, but not sure.

Then again, I have another Kube with SP2071-AA. It does say '18-0-18' on it. So not sure this clarifies anything, but it is info.PXL_20230905_172439182.jpg
 
Did some searching around and found this picture of what I believe to be an all original R107 Kube with the SP2104.R107 Kube PS.jpg
 
And just to balance what Nerdorama posted; I think the R107 Kube is 18-0-18 input as well. The back plate says specifically 18V input. So I guess I'm not sure which is which, but I believe they might both work.

So I'm going to be a betting man, and bet that Power Supply SP2071 was an early edition of the Kube PS. It was probably used on the R107 & R104/2. At some point they probably came out with the new and improved (cheaper?) SP2104.

This numbering would make sense that it was used on the R102 & R103/3 and probably also made it's way into some of the later R107 & R104/2 production.

Now, the R107.2 Kube was SP2163 and it looks like it maybe used a later version of the PS (SP2159)

And perhaps this is where Nerdorama got the 23VAC info from, the R107.2 did indeed have a different voltage input (23VAC). So that SP2159 (I've seen PS SP2162 as well) is not compatible with the earlier Kubes for the R107.
