L-07M's & four speakers

I'm expecting my second L-07M to arrive late next week.
I need some help please, regarding installation options before I blow up the house.

To help understand what I'm trying to do, I'll briefly describe the setup:

All sources into a tape monitor switching device.
That TM device output to input on Mac mx110z.
Mac out to Kenwood KA-907 tape monitor 1.
Tape monitor 1 pushed to tape monitor 2 (where a DBX EQ lives).
4 JBL's on A+B.

That gives me the Mac as a tube pre-amp, the ability to EQ everything, plus I can copy anything-to-anything with the external tape mon switch copy function.

I tested the one L07M through the KA-907 pre-out/main in.

Worked fine, except it took over control of the Kenny. No volume or tone control. I guess that makes sense. I can't remember if the EQ was still in play, I don't think so.


Question 1:
Can you push the monoblocks out of the KA-907 via Tape monitor?
I did a fast test and it worked, but i only ran for a second, not knowing the danger.


Question 2:
Is there any way for (2) L-07M's to run 4 speakers without burning something up? Something like a 4-in, 2-out A/V switch? Or hard wired? Doesn't seem right.


Question 3:
Assuming I got my hands on (4) L-07M's,
how would one main amp run 4 L07M's for 4 speakers?

You need volume control. Tape mon doesn't give you that.

As for running four amps, that's what 'Y' cables are for.

No weird load distribution problems using Y cables? I guess not, or you wouldn't have suggested it.

How would you run 2 amps, 4 speakers?

Question 1- I would not recommend this configuration. Get a real pre-amp, and you will be much happier.

Question 2- You could run an external speaker selector to add more speakers, but then you are sort of defeating the purpose of its design. The L-07M is a critical listening amp made to perform a single task and perform it exceptionally well. DO NOT USE AN AV SELECTOR. You may as well just throw the amps in the trash if you do that. The circuitry in such a device was not made to work at the high power levels the L-07M is capable of and would most likely short out or worse. Although the L-07M has good 4-ohm support and will power virtually any speaker you like, I would not recommend running multiple sets of speakers off of it- Find a good set of speakers that you like and stick with them.

Question 3- The L-07M has a high enough input impedance (50kOhms) that running two per channel should be okay with most pre-amps. Further, you are going to want to buy a good quality pre-amp to drive the Kenwoods. These are serious amps and deserve the best source you can give them. There are some pre-amps, such as the SAE mk IB that work very well with the L-07M and feature 4 main outputs.
