Lafayette lr-2020a receiver question.

picked this unit up out of the trash earlier today but somone had done a hack job on it and it seems to be missing its output transistors. sadly there is no manual online was wondering if anyone had one and could tell me what they are. If not i guess back in the trash it goes. I know its not that good of a unit but i like to keep these things around usually as gifts to friends as long as i can get em going. Thanks

Not even close.
The LR-2020 and 2020A have different designs, especially in the output amplifier section, then the LR-3030/3030A and the LR-5555/5555A.
In this receiver, each channel output transistors (complementary symmetry) are 2SC1986 and 2SA771. Driver transistors are 2SC1509 and 2SA777. If the output transistors were blown, most likely one or both of the driver transistors are also blown.
I just checked my LR-2020A folder and still have original manuals available. :) Circuit wise, the LR-2020 and 2020A are very very similar.

Thanks so much I was just gonna give up hope on finding a manual. I looked through some info and found a good set of replacements. On order right now so we will see how it turns out.
