A Lafayette LR-1515 receiver and two walnut veneer EPI M 100 speakers for $85. May be worth the hour drive to Chico?:scratch2: It sounds like a pretty good deal to me, what do you guys think?

The bonus of going to Chico is The Sierra Nevada Brewery Tap Room. Great eats and, of course,

Just for the EPI, would get my hands on those.

They miss in my sig, in my man cave and in Quebec ( canada ) generally.

For 85$ ? I'd shure be there by now if it wasn't for the 900 miles run. !

+1

Providing the EPIs are in good shape (original drivers, etc.)- other than foam rot.

Thats a nice receiver too.

Don't know anything about the speakers.
The LR-1515 isn't a bad little receiver, rated at 15 WPC probably puts out a little more.
Check the off/on speaker selector switch. A known weak spot on other larger Lafayette models.

The FM tuner in that little Lafayette receiver will amaze you. As mentioned the switch is a common point of failure (same problem as the Kenwood KR-4070 and other receivers with that setup). You'll know the switch is bad if it starts to brown out and make buzzing noises. You can either bypass it or put in a relay to take the load off the switch.

I have been told I have grandpa duties this afternoon so a trip to Chico isn't going to happen today. Maybe tomorrow if they are still available?:dunno:

Those epi's look sweet. Also, Lafayette doesn't get much love but I had a little 12 watt integrated that was a real sleeper. Very good sounding amp.
