Lamps for my Technics SA 505

Hello, I want to change the lamps on my Technics SA 505. My service manual says I need 8v 80mA bulbs for the dial. I looked at vintage electronics and the only ones they have are 250mA. Will the 250mA lamps work or do I need the 80mA ones? If I need the 80mA lamps where could I find them? Thanks

Going from 80ma to 250ma is a pretty good jump. I wouldn't use the 250's at all. They might melt something, or blow a fuse. Best to find some closer to 80. Send AK member dgwojo a PM. He knows all about lamps, and can probably get what you need. Good guy to deal with. You might take a look at one of the lamps to describe what type it is...whether it has wires attached, or snaps in a socket, or some other setup. Dgwojo's highly regarded in the AK community.:thmbsp:

Good luck with your Technics. Wish I had one.:music:

Amperage typo?

The MCM page lists the lamp at 0.7A. Wouldn't that be 700mA? Is this a typo or is it really 700mA?:headscrat: Just my 20 millidollars.

Hi 313guy, That is a typo eagle eyes. Catalog shows correct .07A for 25-140. Wow, 700ma on that bulb would be 'blinded by the light' condition. I just learned that you can access their catalog via MCM web page.
