Lansing Heritage Forum Webmaster

Hi,

The Lansing Heritage Forum web site refuses to recognize my username and password. Numerous times I have provided the site with my email address as part of its process to correct the problem. Despite a message stating an email has been sent with info to correct the problem, no email ever arrives at my mailbox.

Does anyone know how I can contact the webmaster at Lansing Heritage, or someone who can assist in solving this problem? Since April, I have sent several messages to lansing@audioheritage.com, but received no reply.

Thanks to anyone who can assist.

I have no problem contacting the webmaster at LHF, so I can only assume that one of three situations exists, in order of probability.
  1. Your spam filter is trapping the replies
  2. Your email, with LHF is incorrect, and your replies are going somewhere else, or being bounced. The webmaster will not automatically change the account email, based on a message from a different address.
  3. Your account has been disabled, due to rules violations.
These opinions are based on the normal goings-on at Audiokarma.

Don McR (lhf webmaster) is a member here.you could try private messaging him through ak if you cant get a hold of him through other avenues.

1. I don't know how to access the files my spam filter is trapping. I have looked at my trash and the only files there are ones I put there. Yahoo.com is my email provider and I do not know what they do with my spam files. Generally, they do not hold up any of my mail without my direction. My bulk mail box never has anything in it. This could be part of the problem though.
2. My email address is not a problem to my knowledge because LHF has communicated with me at it before with no trouble.
3. I don't think I ever was notified of a rules infraction. I believe the total number of my posts do not exceed 1 or 2.

Thank you for the suggestions, though. If you think of anything else, I would appreciate hearing from you. I will contact Yahoo.com and ask if they have been trapping mail from LHF.

I am trying to contact the webmaster outside the site communication links to see if we can resolve this. Hopefully it will work. I have three sets of JBL speakers and would add more if I could communicate with sellers on the website.

Perhaps, it might be easier to eliminate your current user ID and email address from the site and start a new account, using a new emailaddress. If you only have one or two posts and you don't deem them critical enough for saving, it might be the least hassle. When you enable a new email address at Yahoo are you able to set the spam filter to "on" or "off". If you had an address used only for LHF you're not going to worry about any spam, methinks.

Those Win 95 skills are still working for me :D

macfreak, your Yahoo account may be set to automatically delete the contents of the trash/bulk mail folder. I had that for a while, on a different account, until I tracked down the setting.

I have a seperate junk mail folder on my yahoo account so i can review them for false positives..
You may have this feature turned off.
Go to OPTIONS SPAMGUARD and take a look

I had/have a problem with the site too. My account seems to have disappeared. I tried emailing Don through the lansing heritage site, and never got a reply. I have a local ISP.

I hate to be "that guy" who won't let old threads die, but I've done some searching and can't seem to find a resolution. Hopefully someone can help quickly so this old thread can rest in peace.

I have tried to register twice on the Lansing Heritage forum, and I've actually been rejected, twice now. I've received a generic email that I don't meet the 'requirements' to be a member (whatever that means???) Is there anyone here who knows who I may contact for support? I have tried using the email they provide, to no avail, as people in this thread noticed back in 2008! There seems to be a wealth of information there, and I'd like to be able to interact.

I was able to register, and then click the link in the email (like any other forum) to gain access. But within a few hours, I received an email that my account has been deleted (this has happened twice).

In case anyone is wondering, here is the text from the email:

"Dear akimball442,

Unfortunately your registration at Lansing Heritage Forums did not meet our membership requirements. Therefore your registration was deleted.

Sorry,
Lansing Heritage Forums"

Very strange. I've never been rejected from joining a forum before...

That is standard boilerplate from vBulletin. If you were on a mobile device, and you hit upon an IP that was previously used by a spammer, your registration might trigger that. Your email domain or full address might have too much commonality with a reported spammer, or it might be a banned email domain. I'm not making any statements of specific fact, relative to your registration, just offering some of the potential explanations.

17 posts today. Activity seems down.

Interesting. Thanks for the reply, any possible explanation is better than nothing, so I appreciate it. Maybe I could try another email address to see what happens. If nothing else, being logged in would enable me to see pictures, diagrams, etc more easily than just searching on google, etc.
