I recently picked up a pair of The New (large) Advent Loudspeakers, in very good condition, off Craigslist. They need to be refoamed so I'm going to recap the crossovers while I'm in there. I've been reading up on what other people have done to come up with a 13uf capacitor, and many people seem to like the Dayton caps. I've been looking at the Dayton Metallized Polypropylene caps on Parts Express and see that they have both 6.2uf and 6.8uf 250v (10% tolerance) at a very reasonable price. I have 2 questions though. Are the Metallized Polypropropylene ones of high enough quality? Also, are there any advantages or disadvantages in using a 12uf in parallel with a 1uf as opposed to a 6.2uf in parallel with a 6.8uf?

Yes the Daytons are fine for your NLA's. Regarding bundling of caps to get 13 uF, you can go either way. It won't make any difference. FYI, I generally go with the 12+1 combo FWIW.
The Daytons are good, not great. I find them to be a bit thick sounding. Paralleling them is okay as long as they total close to 13. Matching them will help too.
For caps in the budget range I prefer PIO caps, then Ero polyester for the Advents. Most people think the Advent tweeter can be a bit harsh on some program material. Since the speakers were voiced with am electrolytic, using a polypropylene cap will technically yield a better result, but will most likely accentuate the harsh highs.
For some reason, some Polypropylenes are more harsh than others. The Daytons are not among the harsh from my experience, but I believe you can get better in that price range or just a little more.
There are many here who use Daytons exclusively. There is brand loyalty on AK because Parts Express is a AK sponsor. That's a good reason, and I try to shop there when I can, they have lot's of excellent and cost effective products. But I won't buy a product that is not right for me out of brand loyalty. Sonics first. It is my money after all.
There are also many who believe that all caps sound the same and are annoyed with the concept of boutique caps. At least try a few brands before you fall into either camp.
