Large Advent value

Found a pair of large Advent speakers yesterday on CL. Checked them out and the cabinets are in near perfect condition with the woofer foam gone. Both drivers work. Is $50 fair considering the recap and foam replacement will run me $75?

Well I sold a set of beat to hell cabinets with no drivers inside but with ratty grilles for 25.00. And the buyer was happy so I’d say that’s a scroe price. Worth 250 recapped and refoamed.
 
So they are advertised on cl and you checked them out and didn’t buy for 50??? Unless you live in the middle of nowhere they should be sold already. Live and learn.
 
Recap/refoam shouldn’t cost 75$ (I think all the parts are around 50$). But even at 50$ for the speakers plus 75$ for the work, yes that’s a good deal if they’re utility cabs, and a great deal if they are the walnut cabs.
But for 50$ they are probably gone by now.

Well, should have bought them yesterday - a friend picked them up just as I arrived this morning. At least I talked him out of two MCM wonderful danish stereo cabinets. Lesson learned - again. Sadly he plans to part them out. I may trade him something to keep them from salvage.
 
I think if they are the utility cab version it’s no big deal. But if they have the walnut cabs maybe you can save them.
 
Unfortunately walnut. Fortunately he likes Stromberg Carlson tube stuff. I have a nice little amp and preamp he may consider.
